Vallejo Pigments Natural Iron Oxide Pigment - VAL73115

Vallejo Pigments Natural Iron Oxide Pigment – VAL73115

Vallejo Natural Iron Oxide Pigment is a rich, earthy tone ideal for creating realistic rust, oxidized surfaces, soil deposits, and weathered metal effects on vehicles, structures, and dioramas. Made from finely processed earth and iron oxide powders, this pigment offers excellent coverage and natural coloration suitable for a wide range of climates and terrain types.

Micronized for easy dispersion, the pigment mixes effortlessly with water, acrylic mediums, or turpentine. When applied dry, it provides natural rust dust, earth tones, and fine deposit effects. Fixed with Matte Medium, it becomes a durable part of the model’s finish. Using Glaze Medium extends the working time, allowing for controlled run-offs, oxidation streaks, blended shading, and the gradual buildup of rust or dust across textured surfaces.

For even more advanced weathering, this pigment works seamlessly with Vallejo’s Water & Stone series. Transparent Water can be used for oily, wet, or stained rust effects, while Sandy Paste allows for building thick, textured layers of deep rust, flaking corrosion, or heavy earth accumulation. All pigments are non-toxic and packaged in 30 ml child-safe pots, with weight varying from 17–39 grams depending on density.
