Vallejo Light Slate Grey Pigment is part of a premium range of micronized earth and iron oxide powders designed for realistic weathering and terrain effects on models and dioramas. This subtle, cool grey tone is ideal for recreating stone surfaces, ash deposits, concrete dust, worn metal, and environmental shading across vehicles, structures, and scenic bases.
The ultra-fine processing ensures that the pigment disperses smoothly in water, acrylic mediums, or turpentine. When applied dry, it creates soft dusting effects and natural surface variation. When fixed using Matte Medium, it becomes a permanent part of the model. Glaze Medium provides extended working time, allowing you to build gentle run-offs, blended transitions, and atmospheric tones around edges, recesses, and textured details.
Light Slate Grey also works exceptionally well with Vallejo’s Water & Stone series. Transparent Water can be used to create wet patches, oil-like stains, or moisture-darkened stone, while Sandy Paste adds grit and volume for heavy dirt, rough terrain, or concrete textures. All pigments in the series are non-toxic and packaged in 30 ml child-safe containers, with weight ranging from 17–39 grams depending on pigment density.
