A 5.56 mm caliber domestic automatic rifle adopted by the SDF in 1989. The main rifle of the time was a short carbine size, featuring a design that fits the Japanese physique. Due to the muzzle control function of the flame suppression control device, it has high braking performance and good collection performance. The two legs are detachable and can share the NATO standard STANAG magazine.
The bayonet adopted at the same time is a versatile type with a saw blade for metal cutting other than piercing and a wire cutting function.
