The Treachery of Gollum is a narrative expansion for the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game, focusing on some of the most tense and memorable moments from the journey into Mordor. Centered on Gollum and the monstrous Shelob, this supplement lets you recreate the desperate struggle between loyalty, corruption, and survival as the fate of the Ring hangs in the balance.
Across its 48-page softcover format, the book presents a sequence of nine narrative scenarios that depict the most devious and dangerous moments involving Gollum and Shelob. These scenarios are linked together through a campaign system, meaning the outcome of each battle directly affects the next, creating a flowing story that rewards careful play and tough decisions. Players can choose to aid Frodo on his grim quest, alongside Sam, or embrace Gollum’s treachery and attempt to reclaim the Ring for themselves deep within Mordor.
