The Jagdpanther, entering service in 1944, mounted the powerful 8.8cm Pak 43 in a casemate structure atop the Panther chassis. It combined the mobility of a tank with the devastating firepower of a tank destroyer. Both vehicles played pivotal roles in delaying Allied advances and countering Soviet armour, despite being fielded in limited numbers due to Germany’s dwindling war resources.
