These mobile platforms allowed German forces to protect columns and strategic positions while maintaining maneuverability on the battlefield. Though primarily intended to counter low-flying aircraft, these weapons also proved effective against infantry and lightly armoured vehicles, making them versatile assets on both the Eastern and Western fronts.
